Moong dal is a great source of complex carbohydrates, fiber and protein. Regular consumption of moong dal helps to reduce cholesterol. Moong dal promotes heart health also.. and there are many more benefits of having moong dal regularly. This recipe is very easy to make. This can be given to kids instead of giving rasam daily. Tasty dish to prepare!!
Ingredients -
Moong dal - 1/2 cup
Green Chillies - 3
Garlic Cloves - 4
Ginger pieces - 1 tsp
Water - 4 cups
Turmeric - a pinch
curry leaves - few
Red Chilli - 1
cumin seeds - 1/2 tsp
mustard seeds - 1/2tsp
Urad dal - 1 tsp
Lemon - 1
Try it this way -
Soak moong dal in one and half cup of water for 30 mins and cook it with that water till soft.
Peel ginger and cut it into small pieces. Peel garlic too. Cut Green Chillies to half.
In a bowl, pour oil, add Red chilli, mustard seeds, cumin seeds, urad dal, curry leaves and fry it.
Once they gets fried add green chillies, ginger pieces, garlic cloves and fry them too.
Now, add 4 cups of water and wait till the water gets boiled.
Once the water boils, add cooked moong dal to it and salt and let it boil for 15 mins.
Add Lemon juice and garnich with coriander leaves :)
Moong dal Rasam is ready now!! So simple...
